RED CROSS UNIT

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is a vibrant, voluntary humanitarian organization with a nationwide network of over 1200 branches. Mission of IRCS is to bring relief during disasters and emergencies and to promote health and care for the most vulnerable individuals and communities. As a proud member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, which includes the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and 191 National Societies, we adhere to the seven Fundamental Principles of the Movement.

A Legacy of Service

Established in 1920 under the Indian Red Cross Society Act and incorporated under Parliament Act XV of 1920, IRCS has a rich legacy. The Hon’ble President of India is our President, while traditionally the Hon’ble Union Health Minister is our Chairman. Governance and supervision is managed by our Managing Body, which consists of 18 members, and the Chairman. 6 members, and the Chairman, are nominated by the President, while the remaining 12 are elected through an electoral college.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire, encourage, and initiate humanitarian efforts to alleviate suffering and foster a more peaceful world. We are committed to providing humanitarian and charitable services, such as medical relief, healthcare, blood services, first aid, disaster risk reduction, and other ancillary services to prevent and mitigate suffering without discrimination based on nationality, race, caste, sex, religious beliefs, language, class, or political opinion.

Our Unit

Govt. Naveen College, Kui-Kukdur has an active unit of Red Cross and the in-charge of the unit is Mr. Ramrati Nishad. It conducts various health awareness drives by organizing camps, rallies, workshops in the nearby villages and college premises.
